We have decided to compile a list of Fraser River sturgeon fishing frequently asked questions, do give prospective river monster hunters a small taste of what they will experience on the water. Here is some of the most common questions we are asked:
How Long Are Your Trips?
Our day trips range from 4 hours to 10 hours long and can also be spread out over multiple days. We do recommend the 8-hour trip for you to get the full experience on the water, that allows us to try several of our hot spots guaranteed to land you a giant white sturgeon.
What Should I Bring?
Beverages if you wish, a change of clothes and a willingness to fight monster fish for potentially an hour or more! Fraser Fishing Adventures provides the boat, all necessary safety gear, fishing rods, tackle and bait. We always bring multiple types of bait to match what sturgeon are eating at that time of year. We also supply a large cooler and ice to store any beverages, food and bait.
Is Lunch Provided?
For a reasonable fee we will supply a BBQ and food for a hot lunch to be enjoyed on the boat or on a private beach accessible by boat. We have taken large groups for bachelor parties or corporate retreats and there are several great spots to stop and enjoy a meal on the side of the river. Of course, if you would prefer to bring sandwiches for a quick meal on the water, we provide a cooler to keep your food fresh while you are busy reeling in fish.
Do I need a Fishing License?
Yes, you do need a valid freshwater fishing license for the species you are after. Even though sturgeon are strictly catch-and-release, the province of BC requires every angler to have a valid license. The cost is negligible, and you can click here to purchase your license online.
What Are My Hotel Options?
If you are from out-of-town or would just prefer to stay closer to the boat launch site, we have partnered with the Mission Best Western to accommodate our guests. All of our guests receive a 20% discount at the nearby Best Western which is situated just 6km from the boat launch area.
